Judy Stach, Little Silver, “On the Rocks” (Oil) Judy Stach, Little Silver, “On the Rocks” (Oil) The MiddletownArts Center (MAC) in Middletown is hosting an exhibit of works by members of the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast (PAPJC). “ABreath of PleinAir” features more than 100 plein air paintings by PAPJC members, who paint outdoors and capture the beauty of coastal and central New Jersey.

The exhibition will be on display through Nov. 29, with a wine and cheese reception for the public on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free.

The MAC Gallery is open to the public Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday by appointment. Call 732-706-4100 or visit www.middletownarts.org for more information. The MAC is located at 36 Church St. next to the Middletown train station.

The main show will focus on small works, and large works will be displayed in the North Hall.

The PleinAir Painters of the Jersey Coast is a group of local artists who paint outside the studio in all seasons and all types of weather. Working in the open air allows these artists to duplicate the unique colors and light effects that can only be seen under an open sky. PAPJC artists work in a variety of media, including oil, watercolor and pastel. For more information on this show and the artists, check the website at www.thepapjc.com.
