Stately Homes to be held at Holly Hill, benefit VNA

Stately Homes by-the-Sea, a benefit for the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, will take place May 3 to June 12 at Holly Hill, a historic country estate nestled in the Locust section of Middletown.

More than 35 interior designers, decorators and landscape artists will transform this pre-war treasure, creating a home that reflects the history and bucolic setting of the estate while incorporating the contemporary elements of elegant 21st century living. Designer Alexa Hampton will serve as the honorary design chair joined by Dr. Norman Hungerford as honorary landscape chair.

Built in 1934, Holly Hill is set on more than 12 acres, featuring dozens of holly trees that gave the estate its name. The handmade brick Georgian-style house retains many of the original features, such as the unique “Alladin Lamp” exterior staircase and includes a pool house and extensive gardens.

Founded in 1912, Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey is the largest voluntary, nonprofit home care agency in New Jersey serving more than 127,000 individuals each year throughout New Jersey.

Attendees can round out their day at Holly Hill with lunch at the gourmet cafe and shopping at the show house designer boutique. Stately Homes by-the-Sea is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are no refunds and no rain dates for this event. Please note that the Show House is not handicapped accessible. Children under the age of 12 will not be admitted. Additional information on the Show House, events and ticket sales and prices can be found online at www.statelyhomesbythesea.com.
