Lester Simon, M.D.

Dr. Simon, M.D., 77, of the Locust section of Middletown, died Sept. 16, 2009, at home following a lengthy illness. He had his general practice in Red Bank, from 1963 until retirement in 2004. Prior to that, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. He completed his internship at Newark Beth Israel Hospital. He is survived by a daughter, Rachel Simon; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Hank W. and Melissa A. Simon, and Jason Simon; a sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Jacob Bigeleisen; a brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Gloria Simon; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Molly Pitcher Inn, Red Bank. Arrangements are by Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, Belford section of Middletown.
