      Local Lions meet with Concordia Center
            The Eatontown Lions Club recently sponsored a joint meeting with other area Lions Clubs to receive an update from the Concordia Learning Center at the St. Joseph's School for the Blind, a New Jersey Lions state-sponsored project.

      Library programs slated in March
            MATAWAN — Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library, 165 Main St., will hold drop-in story time for children age 7 and younger at 6:30 p.m. March 19 and 30. No registration is required. Drop-in crafts programs for all ages will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 14, and 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 18. No registration is required.

      Rose-pruning demo April 4 in Eatontown
            The Jersey Shore Rose Society (JSRS), will hold a hands-on rose pruning demonstration 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 4 at Wampum Park, Route 35 south, Eatontown (rain date, April 5).       CILU meeting, potluck supper Friday
            HOLMDEL — Citizens for Informed Land Use (CILU) will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Friday, March 13, at the Holmdel Senior/Community Center, Crawfords Corner Road, next to the post office. The evening will begin with a homecooked buffet. There is no charge; attendees are asked to bring a favorite potluck dish. Beverages and dessert will be provided.

            A ward-winning wildlife photographer and environmental advocate Wendy Shattil will speak at the Middletown Township Public Library at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14. Specializing in wildlife photography, Shattil has a profound respect for her subjects taking care to never put the places or animals that she photographs at risk.

      Mended Hearts group to meet March 26
            Mended Hearts support organization for heart patients, families, health professionals and other interested individuals, will meet noon March 26 at Blaisdell auditorium at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. A light lunch will be served at the free meeting. Registration is required.
