      When the high school wrestling season began, Raritan High School head coach Rob Nucci was confident that his team was going to do something special this year. This past weekend, the Rockets proved their coach prophetic, ending Ocean Township's five-year reign as the District 22 champions by outscoring the Spartans 187.5-164.5 in Little Silver.

      Thanks to some solid senior leadership, the youthful Raritan High School boys basketball team has battled its way to a respectable 10-11 mark and berths in both the Shore Conference and NJSIAA Central Jersey Group II tournaments.

      Matawan had all the bases covered. Whether it was sprinting, running distance, throwing or soaring vertically, the Huskies scored points in all areas to capture the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group II State Sectional Indoor Track and Field Championship.

Brookdale women are top seed in Region XIX

      The Brookdale Community College women's basketball team will begin its "real" season this weekend. The Jersey Blues will be looking to make their fourth trip in five years to the National Junior College Athletic Association national championships. They will start that journey at the Region XIX Tournament being hosted by the County College of Morris.
