Can't ignore COAH burden, and Lucent tract
Can't ignore COAH burden, COAH impacts need consideration before Holmdel endorses demolition of the former Bell Labs building on the Alcatel-Lucent tract. The New Jersey State Council on Affordable Housing (COAH) imposes quotas for numbers of lower income housing units on any town approving construction of new job-providing buildings or new residences.

Mason, Mallet will serve as watchful eyes
I believe the voters in Monmouth County should take special notice of their freeholder candidates this year. On the Democratic ticket is Amy Mallet, a local businesswoman, and Glenn Mason, a recently retired detective with 25 years of service with the Hazlet Police Department.

Democratic candidate's behavior makes resident's blood boil
Having grown up in Middletown there is no other place my wife and I would rather raise our four children. In my opinion, it is without question one of the greatest towns in New Jersey to raise a family! But, with the recent letters from the Democrat candidate for township committee, Pat Walsh and her associates really made my blood boil.

Walsh, Grenafege will bring innovation to Middletown
My husband and I moved to Middletown in May and have been enjoying the community. However, we were not happy to learn of the 7.1 percent increase in property taxes included in this year's budget and approved by the current Township Committee.

Sockol and Mausner will address needs of Holmdel
Unlike Jerry Allocco, who had a letter printed in this publication several weeks ago, I am not a lifelong resident of Holmdel. I, in fact, have only lived in Holmdel for three years. But as a relatively new resident, I am fully aware that Mr. Allocco is so intertwined with Committeeman Rocco Pascucci and party boss Tom Scarano that I cannot distinguish the words of Mr.

Vote against town center by electing Fiore, Brightbill
Let's all take a breath here. As the president of the Concerned Citizens of Middletown, I helped lead a great grassroots uprising against the town center in Middletown. The end result was that the township committee recognized that our concerns were valid and rezoned the property in question to over-55 housing. This was the proper thing to do.

Curley will continue tradition of excellence as freeholder
As a colleague and former running mate of John Curley, I am pleased to know that we can choose to add a voice for good government in Freehold. In Red Bank, John fought hard for open government, responsible spending, and reasonable development. In Freehold, he is sure to do more of the same.

Sockol knows and respects residents of Holmdel
I am writing this letter in support of Mike Sockol for the Holmdel Township Committee. I will not go into the usual topics that you will normally see here in this forum. Supporters, non-supporters, and the candidates themselves will try to tell you what each of the people running stand for or what they oppose.

Voters need to separate facts from misinformation
It comes as no surprise to me that most letters to the editor that are published are anti-Republican/conservative. Just review your own content to confirm what I'm saying is true.

Nonprofit extends thanks for cut-a-thon efforts
On Sept. 28, the Peter Conte Salon of Matawan hosted a cut-a-thon to benefitMichael's Feat. I want to thank and congratulate the owners and staff for a terrific event. Despite the rainy forecast, 70 people stopped in to show their support and enjoyed having their haircut and/or receiving a relaxing message. One hundred percent of the proceeds were donated to our charity.
