      Jenny Bartolf, Holmdel, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, where she is majoring in theater. A 2004 graduate of Middletown High School North, she is the daughter of Marcia and Larry Bartolf.

      Scott Dellosso, Hazlet, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Delaware, Newark, where he is majoring in elementary education. A graduate of Raritan High School, Hazlet, he is the son of Debbie and Greg Dellosso.

      Lauren A. Igneri, Aberdeen, made the dean’s list for the fall semester, with a 4.0 grade point average at Rutgers University, Newark campus. A pharmacy major, she is enrolled in the Honor’s College at Rutgers. A 2004 graduate of Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School, Aberdeen, she is the daughter of Leslie and Ron Igneri.

      Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School, Aberdeen, has announced 11 students have been named Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars. Bloustein Scholars place in the top 10 percent of their class and have minimum combined SAT score of 1260, or are ranked first, second or third in the their class as of the end of the junior year. Scholars are offered an annual award of $1,000 without regard to financial need. Matawan students named as scholars are Jonathan Abramson, Katelyn Bruno, Michelle Cornacchia, William Murcia, Siobhan Nolan, Pavan Patel, Claire Sarlo, Matthew Sarlo, Christopher Sileo, Matthew Stankiewicz and Huseyin Tunceroglu.

      The high school also announced that 17 students earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of exceptional achievement on the college-level advanced placement program (AP) exams. Students took the exams in May after completing college-level courses at the high school.

      Students qualifying for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all exams taken, and grades of three or higher on five or more of the exams, are Theresa Assini, Andrei Danel, Jing Jing Feng, Joel Harley, and Edward Matthews.

      Four students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all exams taken, and three or higher on four or more of the exams. Those students are Christopher Beccia, Michelle Cornacchia, Devon Crumlish and William Murcia.

      Eight students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more exams, with grades of three or higher. The AP Scholars are Albert Carpinteyro, Tricia Conti, Ian Deranieri, Randall Higgins, Lauren Igneri, Rosette Iskander, Zunaira Khan and Santino Rivello.

      Cynthia Chou, Holmdel, has been selected to attend the six-day Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference to be held in Washington, D.C., in mid-January. Students are chosen for the conference based on high standards in academics and leadership. Chou is a senior at Holmdel High School, where she serves as treasurer to the Italian Honors Society and tutors students in the lower-level classes of Italian. She attended the Congressional Youth Leadership Council in the summer of 2003.
