Area Scouts achieve Eagle Scout ranking

Daniel Abrahamsen, Middletown, was recently honored as an Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor. A member of Troop No. 122, Twin Lights District, he is a senior honors student and co-president of the senior class at Middletown High School North.

Abrahamsen’s Eagle Scout project was restoring the Roop Taylor historic cemetery in Middletown. He removed trees, brush and trash; located headstones; created a trail; and mulched the site. He has been in the Scouts since he was a second-grade student at New Monmouth School, New Monmouth section of Middletown.

Brian Patrick Cavaliere, Hazlet, also recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor. The senior patrol leader of Boy Scout Troop No. 137 Hazlet, Cavaliere is a junior at Red Bank Catholic High School, where he is on the tennis team and a member of the Future Business Leaders of America.

His Eagle Scout project was at Plum Run, Gettysburg (Pa.) National Park. Cavaliere constructed handrails and supports on a 26-foot bridge, cleared the area of brush, and put down mulch along the trail.

The son of Mary and Arthur and Mary Cavaliere, he is a member of the Scout’s Order of the Arrow and vice chairman of the Na Tsi Hi Ceremonies Team.
